Each of the 40% Silver Eisenhower Dollar Coins you can purchase in this product listing comes from the United States Mint. Although circulation silver dollars had been out of circulation since the end of the Peace Silver Dollar Series in 1935, the circulation Eisenhower Dollars had a copper-nickel clad composition.

These 40% Silver Eisenhower Dollar coins were issued as collectible coins. In 1970, a compromise was reached among legislators and the United States Mint to issue the Eisenhower Dollar with 40% silver only in a collectible issue. The coins would be issued by the mint as BU and Proof specimens from 1971 to 1976 only.
